Dentures in College Park, GA

Denture implants are a means for replacing damaged or missing teeth. Find out more about them and how you can get the smile that you deserve.

What Are Artificial Teeth?

Damaged or lost teeth make your appearance change and make it hard to chew and speak. Custom-made dentures are dental appliances with cosmetic teeth attached. They offer a temporary or permanent solution to replacing teeth. Along with fixing the appearance of your smile, denture implants restore function to your mouth and support your facial features. They can last for years and promote healthy hygiene when you properly care for them.

What Kinds of Denture Implants Do Dentists Use?

Dentures are available in four main types. To help you choose the appliance that best meets your dental needs, our dentists will perform an in-depth assessment.

Full and Partial Artificial Teeth

Full or complete dentures are a replacement for all of your upper or lower natural teeth. When you still have some of your own teeth, our dentists have to remove them first. They’ll give you a temporary denture to use until your mouth heals from the extraction. After you recover, we’ll schedule an appointment for a permanent denture fitting. You may get a removable or fixed appliance, the latter of which we anchor to your jaw with dental implants.

If you want to avoid extracting your remaining teeth, a partial denture is the better choice for you. It only fills in the areas where your teeth are missing. Although it has a bridge-like structure, it only snaps over your natural teeth for support. It’s not a fixed denture, so you need to remove it for cleanings every night.

Flexible Partial Cosmetic Teeth

Flexible partial dentures don’t have the rigid base and metal clasps that their traditional counterparts use. Instead, they’re made with lightweight materials that allow the base to bend with your mouth. The clasps are also flexible, and the base is the same color as your gums so that others only notice your smile.

Implant-Supported Denture Implants

While a conventional denture sits on the jaw inside of your mouth, an implant-supported denture anchors to dental implants. Our dentists can tell you how many that you need, but most people need two to four for stability. Most dentures only need this on the lower jaw to remain stable. Like other dental appliances, you wear an implant-supported denture during the day and clean it at night.

What Is the All-on-Four Dental Implant Technique?

All-on-Four dentures allow you to have a full set of cosmetic teeth that are permanently anchored to four dental implants on the lower jaw. These dentures give you the benefits of a fixed denture and the best stability.

Soft Reline: What Is It?

A soft denture reline includes placing soft material that’s pliable for as long as two years. Contrary to the hard acrylic lining that traditional dentures have, it reduces denture pain and sore spots.

What Is the Procedure for Getting Cosmetic Teeth?

The process for getting new dentures involves many steps that vary depending on the denture type that you choose and whether you need extra procedures beforehand, such as tooth extraction and implant placement. For the actual appliance, however, our dentists will make impressions and take measurements of your teeth so that it fits right and accurately replicates your bite. When the denture is ready, our dentists will make adjustments as necessary so that you’re comfortable.

What Is the Cost of Artificial Teeth?

The cost of dentures for you will depend on the procedures that you need beforehand, the denture that you choose and the materials necessary for making it. Our dentists can advise you on how much various dentures cost. Call our office now to learn more about getting affordable quality dentures.
